A Guide to Steam Shower Installation

Ok so you have found your ideal steam shower or steam shower bath, however the most important part is the installation. It is crucial that your unit is correctly assembled for it to function to the best of its abilities.

Space for movability

Before you purchase your steam shower or steam shower bath the most important thing to do is measure the interior of your bathroom. Remember you must have the space available to assemble the unit in the first place and as well as this ensure that the cubicle can be pulled out should you need to maintain it in the future. One aspect of measuring that is extremely important is the height of the unit. During installation you need to have additional space to get to the roof of the cabin, this is not only for assembly but also for future maintenance.

Plumbing and water connections

Steam showers are in all purposes a standard shower; therefore only requires standard plumbing connections. All that is required is a hot and cold water feed to the unit, however they do need between 1.5 and 3.0 bar of water pressure to ensure you receive the correct element of water power. If you have a condensing combination boiler you will have the adequate pressure to operate the cabin, low pressure systems may require a water pump that is adequate to 2.0 bar of pressure to enable the optimum performance. In all steam showers are very simple to connect to your main water supply.

Electrical connections and additional features

The majority of the wonderful features contained within a steam shower or steam shower bath operate on electricity, so you don’t need any additional electric connections in the home as they run from a standard 13amp supply. We do however recommend that you always have a professional electrician to connect all your electrical supplies. The modern day steam showers are designed in mind that the family man can install it himself however it is extremely important that the electric supply is put in place correctly for safety and performance.
